Marc-Reiner Schmidt, S1GP Champ: This Track Is Amazing, Will Be A Pleasure To Come Back

O etapă de Campionat Mondial este un spectacol rar în România, despre orice disciplină a motociclismului am vorbi, dar weekend-ul trecut organizatorii de la Transilvania Motor Ring, împreună cu S1GP și FRM, au reușit să ne ofere chiar un astfel de eveniment.
Pe lângă legenda Thomas Chareyre, octuplul campion mondial de Supermoto, și viitoarea speranță a nou-revenitei echipe Honda, Elia Sammartin, a participat la cursă și campionul en titre Marc-Reiner Schmidt. Pe Marc nu numai că l-am văzut câștigând detașat Race1, Fast Race și Grand Finale pe circuitul transilvan, dar am reușit să-i luăm și o scurtă declarație, în exclusivitate pentru HeyMotoMag #WOW:

First time here?
„Yeah, first time in Romania, also first time at the Transilvania Motor Ring. This track is amazing, really technical off-road [section] with some different possibilities [of approach], beautiful asphalt with some very fast corners, and also some tight ones, so... everything you need for a good race!”

Don't see TM off the podium anytime soon do you?
„I have quite a big gap between [me and] the second and third riders, and I am very confident on my TM!

Do you think more manufacturers will join S1GP?

„I hope so. TM and Honda push a lot for the world championship so that's why they are both in front... but I hope in the future new brands will come, like Ducati or Triumph. They started now in motocross and maybe they will support supermoto too. It would be nice!”

Will you be back?
„I hope so, yes, I had a good time here, very good food, liked it a lot. Will be a pleasure for me to come back to Romania!”
